We have just finished our third pastoral conference, two at The Upper Room and one at Mercy House. The teachings were about the “call of a pastor” and the responsibilities of a pastor. We are so grateful for Pastor Kelley from Cornerstone Chapel in Virginia and Pastor Brian from Calvary Chapel, Franklin, Tennessee who shared their experiences, knowledge and hearts with Guatemalan pastors.
Most of the Mayan pastors have never had the opportunity to experience this kind of teaching. It has caused them to hunger for more! They want to understand the Bible, how to study it and how to preach it!
It takes a team to put on a conference. We have a talented group of men and women that serve at Servants 4 Him. Let me tell you about them:
Forrest Kendall does much of the teaching, although in these last conferences we were blessed to have guest speakers.
Carol Kendall teaches women and children’s classes.
Juan Aguilar is the primary teacher for Mercy House. He and his wife, Celestina, run Mercy House.
Barry Staley is in charge of The Upper Room, filming, and electronics. Barry, along with his wife, Marquita, plan and provide all the meals for conferences, as well as S4H bookkeeping.
Juanita Rivera provides assistance in the kitchen and in the houses.
.
Debora Ramirez, S4H, administrator, is also our most professional translator. We also use translators from other ministries as well as Forrest.
Dennis Ruano ( S4H pastor and dentist) along with his wife Chochy provide amazing worship in Spanish and English! The senior pastor from Calvary Chapel Guatemala City, Francisco Reyes, and his worship team provide music as well.
